The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) and Edinboro University (EU) are committed to creating and maintaining an academic and work environment that is free of unlawful harassment, intimidation, bullying and discrimination and will not knowingly tolerate substantiated incidences.
Section 106.45(b) of the 2020 Final Title IX Rules require the sharing of "All materials used to train Title IX Coordinators, investigators, decision-makers, and any person who facilitates an informal resolution process. A recipient must make these training materials publicly available on its website, or if the recipient does not maintain a website the recipient must make these materials available upon request for inspection by members of the public."
EU utilizes the SUNY SCI training system for the training of Title IX Coordinators, Hearing Officers, Hearing Board Members, Investigators, and Residence Life Staff. The training materials provided by SUNY SCI can be found in the link below:
Further, PASSHE Policy 2009-03 mandates an obligation for each university to conduct
training for new students and new employees within 60 days of commencing employment.
In addition, all faculty, staff, and administrators are required to participate in
this training at least every year thereafter. The method of training is at the discretion
of each university.
The EU Title IX Office has adopted three methods of delivering the mandated training:

For a complete list of programs offered, program description, contact, target audience and the frequency at which they are offered, see Appendix G Education and Training of the University Policy Handbook. Similarly, new students are made aware of Title IX and the content of the University Policy Manual and the Student Code of Conduct and Judicial Procedures during new student orientation.
In addition to campus programs, periodically Pennsylvania's State System of Higher
Education (PASSHE) provides additional workshops. These workshops provide updates
and clarifications on each State System university's Social Equity responsibilities.
Please contact our Title IX Office to find out when the next PASSHE hosted training
is being offered.
To educate employees on their responsibilities under Title IX, the Title IX Coordinator
provides education programs on what constitutes sex discrimination and sexual misconduct,
on what steps are takes to resolve complaints, and on each individual's reporting
responsibility. The program is designed to provide individuals with an understanding
of EU's responsibilities under Title IX and Title VII and how these matters are addressed,
whether or not the actions are potentially criminal in nature.
